How it works - Shared resources

Modified on Thu, 26 Feb at 12:58 PM

A shared resource is any device that needs to be booked at the same time as the resource performing the service. Once a shared resource is booked, future booking for the service at that time will be restricted. It will not offer times for the timeslot.

Some example of shared resources are:

  • Meeting room
  • Lab EG Golf lab
  • Trackman EG club Fit

Shared resources are used when:

  • Only a  limited number of devices are available at a particular time
  • Device needs to be reserved to avoid conflicts where two or more parties attempting to use the same device simultaneously

How it works

When a service assiocated with a shared resource is booked, it checks availability for both the resource being booked and the hierarchical shared resource. Times reserved for the shared resource will not be shown for service assicated with the shared resource.  Only times where both the resource and shared resource is available will be shown. When a service assiocated with a shared resource is booked both the resource and the shared resource linked to the service will be booked.
