What is Configuration?

The Configuration tab is where you set up your Services, Resources, Locations, Events, Products, and Categories and their details.

NOTE: in order to access your business' Configuration page, your user account must be either a Business Owner (admin user) or Manager role. Users who are assigned to the Staff Member role will not have access to their business' Configuration page.

• Services
  The Services Configuration page is where you configure the core service items your business offers. Think of Services as the "what your business does/sells for its customers". A Service could be treatments, classes, tours, lessons, etc.
  
  
  Event-related Services are also set up under this Services Configurations page (see below under "Events").
  
  
  
• Resources
  The Resources Configuration page is where you configure the Resources your business has. Think of Resources as the "who delivers the Services for customers" - the Resources perform the services offered by your business.
  
  Resources can be your business' team members, instructors, practitioners, consultants, course leaders, or coaches.
  
  A resource could also be a physical item, such as a room, a vehicle, a sports pitch, or a piece of equipment.
  
  
  
• Locations
  The Locations Configuration page is where you can assign places of business operation against the Resources your business has.
  
  Locations are designed for mobile businesses that do not operate in a single fixed location.
  
  For example, a driving school may have several driving instructors, each of whom provide your business' Services (Driving Lessons) in different suburbs or regions.
  
  
  
• Events
  The Events Configuration page is where you configure the any one-off Services that your business might offer.
  
  The difference between an Event and a Service is that a Service is an standard, ongoing item that your business offers indefinitely (without any specific start or end date/time), while an Event will have a finite start and end date and only occurs for a limited time.
  
  For example, a Golf Course might offer general 1-on-1, 60-minute golf lessons as one of its standard Services, and could offer a special clinic for a specific demographic of golf players (e.g., juniors) which runs as a limited-time, group class on a selected date.
  
  
  NOTE: Events rely on an Event Service being created under the "Services" Configuration page.
  
  
  
  
• Products
  The Products Configuration page is where you create the Products or Promotions that you want to sell. Products can be Vouchers for multiple sessions of a Service or physical merchandise your business sells (e.g., T-shirts, food and beverages, branded accessories, etc.).
  
  Products can be set up for selling bulk, discounted vouchers that can be redeemed later when a booking is made.
  
  
  
• Categories
  You can also set up Categories names to label and group closely-related Services and Products together for to be displayed on your business' BookItLive Mini Website page.
